Langley

With a local equine industry valued at over $50 million annually, Langley is the Horse Capital of BC, producing horses that perform at world class levels. The proximity of breeding and training centres to local racing tracks and an urban population provide a strong base for the equine economy. Approximately 427 farms in Langley have produced over 3,858 horses and ponies, representing over 7.2% of the provincial total.

Commercial breeding and training facilities and recreational riding are supported by an extensive array of services including feed and tack shops, bedding suppliers, boarding stables, equine veterinarian practices and BC's only neonatal horse hospital. The international equestrian facility Thunderbird Show Park is also located in Langley. While Thunderbird is hunter/jumper based, they also host Quarter Horse, Arabian, Half-Arabian and Dressage shows as well as many other agricultural trade shows and events.
